I Completely a...@Anonymous... who is really Caleb. <br />I Completely agree. I'm combating the notion that it's impossible to know or love God if you don't read your bible every day. I can know and love God without a Bible at all and while I agree that the modern evangelical church tends to border on being biblically illiterate. I also see the modern evangelical church placing way to much emphasis on the spirituality of spiritual disciplines while failing to put the emphasis on the object of those disciplines, namely relationship with God.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14064579720594431093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561129991660373766.post-307315539587111452010-08-31T14:56:20.583-07:002010-08-31T14:56:20.583-07:00I like it :)I like it :)Jenaleenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561129991660373766.post-32388249170071134952010-08-31T12:23:00.003-07:002010-08-31T12:23:00.003-07:00very interesting, as i was reading it made me thin...very interesting, as i was reading it made me think hmm well Abraham didn't have the Bible and yet he still had faith lol. so yes this totally makes sense to me. im not sure i ever really thought about it like that tho. thanx for the insightanmlmagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00556117481207603627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561129991660373766.post-52655001409293261012010-08-31T12:10:36.484-07:002010-08-31T12:10:36.484-07:00I feel like i want you to clarify your points in t...I feel like i want you to clarify your points in this. I get where you are going, but i think many will take this a dangerous place where you do not intend it to go. I get the need for the end of legalism, and i could not agree more, but ...all doctrine is derived from the text and if we try to downplay it (which i do not believe you are trying to do) we could quickly have serious problems. And more often than legalism in regards to the word, I feel the church now is more often Biblically illiterate than legalistic. I feel we as the church have more problems with people not knowing the text that those who are legalistic about it. Both problems must be addressed, but I feel our eyes should shift more to Biblical literacy that is quite lacking today.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561129991660373766.post-41634759201138809072010-08-30T17:11:14.899-07:002010-08-30T17:11:14.899-07:00Oh and not to ruin the movie for anyone who hasn&#...Oh and not to ruin the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I think your point is also supported by "Book of Eli" at the end when he realizes what was really important, the physical book or what it was and stood for and taughtKristinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01720862483026149277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561129991660373766.post-44377332555285982182010-08-30T17:05:04.234-07:002010-08-30T17:05:04.234-07:00This was really interesting.
